Re-provisioning Space in ONTAP (that deleted volume data can't be accessed)

For ONTAP (bam, this will be NetApp focused, if you haven't figured that out yet), I get asked a lot "Can some one see the data that was written to a volume if that same space is reused for a new volume?"  Basically you create a volume.  You write data to it.  You delete the volume.  You create a new volume that is using the same physical space to store data.  Is that "old/deleted" data accessible for clients using the new volume?

Nope.

ONTAP will not expose any data that was previously written to the physical media when reallocating that space to a new volume.  No "dd," no whatever other program or tool from the client will be able to scrape or fetch previously written content through any of the data protocols.

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
